Trauma Informed Care for Birth Workers Training

TIC Training consists of two intense days specific for the client and birth worker.

 Course Objectives: 

  • Define Trauma & Trauma Informed Care

  • Understand the importance of grounding

  • Define Epigenetics

  • Understand the effects of trauma from a multidisciplinary approach

  • Understand the cultural components of birth practices and incorporate trauma-informed care in birth work

  • Recognize triggers within the birth professional

  • Observe and understand the behaviors of the birth professional as a response of triggers

  • Understand the impact of trauma-informed care in the birth professional’s role

  • Understand the value of self-care

  • Understand How to prevent re-traumatization

CPR Training

This training covers the basics of CPR. CPR combines external chest compressions with rescue breaths to provide oxygen to the brain to keep it alive. Rescue breaths provide oxygen to the lungs. Participants can do the full BLS or just CPR training.

Breastfeeding Peer Training

This training covers what it means to be a Peer. Peer mothers provide support and counseling to help women address their barriers to breastfeeding and assist them in preventing and managing breastfeeding problems.

CBRF Training

This course provides the skill and knowledge to safely prevent and react to fires in a CBRF.

Babysitting Training

Recommended for those ages 11 to 17, this course is designed to help participants develop leadership skills, build their business, help keep themselves and others safe, help children learn how to behave, and learn basic child care and basic first aid.
